FP Rationale:

Rationale For Foundation Portfolio:

Scene One:
( Boards 1 - 6 , Story Boards )
Scene One starts with establishing shots of the location. The camera will be doing close-ups and wide shots on certain things within the workshop. This will slowly set the scene, giving the audience time to gage and have an idea of what might be happening. At this point the audiences ideas may vary as they will not yet be introduced to any characters. For this scene there will be low lighting to add to the suspense, the hand held camera may be a bit unsteady, but not too shaky for the audience to notice. For the editing of this scene we will try and make them quick shots and add a blurry affect to them. Putting the audience at an edge of what's happening and engaging them with the film, making them want to watch more.

Scene Two:
( Boards 7 , Story Boards )
Scene Two will be where we introduce a character from the short film. This will be the Hostage. We will show her already tied up and in bandages. This will almost surprise the audience. They will be left thinking, what she is doing there and how she got there in the first place. This will cause them to want to watch more, to see what unfolds in the short film. This will be a close-up shot as well, the camera will be closing up on the small things that show that she ( the girl ) is in bondage, for example : The Tape across her mouth, restricting her from talking or making any noise; The Ropes used to tie her hands & feet, keeping her from moving around; And the tape that is used to tape her onto the chair, etc. She will be wearing rugged and worn out clothes, to add an effect to the scenery. She may also have some cuts and bruises to add to it as well, her hair will be messy and she will look stressed out and scared.

Scene Three:
( Boards 8 , Story Boards )
Scene Three will be introducing the 'Bad Guy'. He will be wearing all black clothes, a black hat and a black mask, covering his face, adding suspense, as the audience is left wondering who the man is and why he is doing what he is doing. This scene will be of the man walking towards the place where the subject is hidden, scrapping a knife along the wall as he gets near and nearer to the door. There will be no dialogue in any of these scene's yet, as they will show up in the later scene's. This introduces the man as being the 'Bad Guy' the audience see's him and instantly connects him to being the reason why the girl was in the state that she was in, in Scene Two. The color of his clothes representing, 'death' , 'darkness' and 'demonisms'. This scene is taken outdoors it will be with the camera on the tripod and the camera will pan and follow the Man as he walks. Or it will just be hand held and shaky, creating a 'scary' effect.

Scene Four:
( Boards 9 ,  Story Boards )
Scene Four will be one of the Hallucinations of the girl. The girl will be Hallucinating about how she got into the position that she is in at that moment. The Hallucination will be the girl doing something normal , like walking along a path and then the man will come out of his Car and hit her on the head and then pull her into the car. This will be edited to be blurry, the videoing of this will be hand-held and shaky, this time it will be very shaky that the audience will be able to see the shakiness, this will add to the effect of it being a hallucination. This is where the dialogue will happen, it will be of the girl screaming for help, before she gets hit in the head.

Scene Five:
( Boards 10 , Story Boards )
It will be a fast cut to the Man standing in front of the 'garage' roller door, we will be filming from behind the man, so it will be like an over-the-shoulder shot, the door will roll up, it will then switch to a match on action shot and we the camera crew, will be inside the garage filming him walking in. In this shot for both the scene's the camera will be on a tri-pod, to keep it straight and stable. To help focus on the man and what he is doing, also just to make sure that the camera is very stable, because hand-held camera's we do not know weather or not the camera is held straight and it may also be a little bit shaky so it is best to have it placed on a tri-pod.

Scene Six:
( Boards 11 , Story Boards )
It will cut back to the girl, getting scared and moving trying to escape free, she is confronted by the man with his knife, he antagonizes her with his knife. This will be with a Hand-held camera, it will be close up on the girls facial expressions, as she is scared and tries to scream through the tape around her mouth.

Scene Seven:
( Boards 12 , Story Boards )
This scene will be of the Man and his body expressions and the way he treats the girl, almost like an Over-The-Shoulder shot of what's going on. This will be the last scene. In this scene the Man, kills the girl by hitting her in the head with the bottom end of the knife.
